Deathwatch - Hammertime!

I am happy to present you my Watch Captain of the Deathwatch. I always wanted to build a model in this kind of exaggerated attack pose. As you can easily see, the bad boy originates from the Raven Guard. Unfortunately, he is still nameless yet. Any proposals?

Deathwatch Venerable Dreadnought

Last Week, I got hold on a really cheap Grey Knights Dreadnought, although I don't play Grey Knights. 😅
Instead, I converted the model slightly and painted it the last evenings, to eventually look like a Deathwatch Venerable Dreadnought. Why? Well, I plan to play with a small Deathwatch team at our next internal tournament. Hurray!

40k in 40 Minutes - My Battles

In my first game, I played against “Funky Biber” and his Tyranids. In fact, this was the game I had the most jitters in advance. Should the Nids be able to engage me in close combat early, I would have a really hard stand.

In the selected mission, we both have had to conquer three markers in the middle of the battlefield to conquer and hold as long as possible. So we both went into the game quite offensively. I was a little bit faster than the Tyranids and was able to collect some early victory points.

By using the psychic power "Endurance" I made the Librarian and his squad incredibly resistant and the Tyranids lost some teeth chewing on them. :D

Meanwhile, my two squads of scouts held the markers. As soon as a surprise attack of a Lictor went terribly wrong, the victory was mine.

In the second game, I faced “Clyde Froschs” Skitarii. We played the same mission, as in the last game. This time sadly, regarding the psychic forces was not so lucky, as I only received "Life Leech". Mhmmm.

I tried to simply overrun the Skitarii. But since this was my very first time I met those metal boys, I underestimated them greatly. I saw their strength more in ranged combat and therefore thought they would suck in close combat. But how wrong I was. Those damn flexible protocols!

Until the end of the fourth round the game was decided, as I was beaten up too heavily .

Finally, in the third game I faced the Daemonkin of Captain_Valerius.

Our Mission was to protect our own markers and to destroy the opposite marker at the same time. I assumed that I would get problems with the Hounds and I could neglect the cultists in the Rhinos.

So I barricaded myself and waited for the onslaught. The Hounds went down pretty easily, but I had major problems with the Rhinos. I wasn’t able to crack them and on the same time, Captain_Valerius played them pretty aggressively. I didn’t see that coming.

One Rhino rammed my Land Speeder and destroyed it. The other one managed to break my defense, unloaded its cargo and shit hit the fan. Finally, my marker was destroyed and I had no chance to get to his. Uppps...

Iron Hands: More Scouts

Our small tournament moves closer and there is still much to paint. On the last weekend, I could finish at least there more scouts. With them, the whole unit is ready for battle.

I guess next up will be the Land Speeder Storm. The speeder itself will be fun to paint, but painting the crew is a different story. It means even more scouts... (>﹏<)

Iron Hands: Preparations for the next 40k in 40 minutes

In about a month I am going to attend to a small 40k in 40 minutes tournament. Since I played with my Tallarn Rough Riders the last time, I want to lead my Iron Hands into battle on the next occasion. This is the list I have in mind:
***************  1 HQ ***************
Librarian  - - - > 65 points

***************  3 Troops  ***************
Scout Squad, 5 Scouts  (2x Shotgun, 3x CCW)
+ Landspeeder Storm, Heavy Bolter   - - - > 95 points

Scout Squad, 5 Scouts (4x Bolter, Heavy Bolter) - - - > 63 points

Tactical Squad, 5 Space Marines + 1x Flamethrower - - - > 75 points

***************  1 Support ***************
Devastator Squad, 5 Space Marines (3x Heavy Bolter) - - - > 100 points

Overall : 398 points
This small strike team should do well against my opponents armies (Adeptus Mechanicus, Tyranids, Chaos Daemons). But there is a hitch. Not all of the miniatures are painted and we have the agreement to only use those. That's why I painted some new Marines:

Tactical Marine with Flamethrower

Scout Sergeant and Scout with Heavy Bolter

Now there are three more Scouts, a Land Speeder Storm and the full Devastator Squad to go. The Land Speeder Storm kit contains so many cool bits that made me thinking. So I jumped at the opportunity and built my own version of the famous Sergeant Telion (not for the tournament!). He is still missing an Iron Hands name and paint, but I hope you like him nevertheless. At least his pose is a little bit more dynamic than the original...

40k in 40 Min: Ergebnisse und mehr Bilder

Zunächst die abschließende Platzierung für unsere Mini-Turnier:

  1. Captain_Valerius (Necrons) - 2 Siege, 1 Unentschieden
  2. =Talarion= (Tallarner) - 2 Siege, 1 Niederlage
  3. Clyde_Frosch (CSM) - 1 Sieg, 2 Niederlagen
  4. Funky_Biber (Salamanders) - 1 Unentschieden, 2 Niederlagen

40k in 40 Min: Meine drei Spiele

1. Spiel gegen Funky Biber
