Blitz Bowl: Rotpox Rumblers

Blitz Bowl Season 2 is available now and I am really looking forward to the first games with the advanced rules. In the box, new player cards for most of the known teams are included, also the ones which weren't included before - like Dark Elves, Halflings, Lizardmen and so on. This gave me the motivation to paint a Nurgle Blitz Bowl Team I had laying around for a while. I proudly present the "Rotpox Rumblers"!

 

 

With the new box came a new two-sided gaming board with new pitch layouts. Therefore, I will need to build some additional stuff for my pitch, too.

Blitz Bowl: Red Fangs Raiders

My second Blitz Bowl Team is ready for the pitch. I really struggled with the green skin and needed more than one attempt to get it somewhat right. But I am really satisfied with the red on the armour (silver undercoat - Tamiya Clear Red - thinned Carroburg Crimson - silver highlights).

 

I've finished the new team just in time for their first games, yesterday. A friend of mine came over and we had a "Blitz Bowl Game Night" including some snacks an alcoholic beverages. What a blast!

 

By the way, at Barnes and Nobles, you can get some new Blitz Bowl stuff! If you don't know Blitz Bowl, just give it a try. The initial investment is less than $ 50 or 40 €! Trust me, you will not regret it. 😅

Well, here a the first two miniatures for my second (still nameless) Blitz Bowl Dwarf team. I found it hard to decide on a colour scheme and tried different ones, but eventually landed somewhere near the one on the Dwarf team box. 😏

Blitz Bowl: Building a Stadium / Pitch - Finished! (Part III)

This is my final version of a 3D Blitz Bowl pitch. It is based on the original gaming board and the game itself a simpler version of good old Blood Bowl. I gave posters, banners and floor writing a try, but it didn't work out and therefore I kept the pitch simple.

Here are two possible versions of the pitch with two trap doors. The pillars are also moveable, so the games shouldn't get boring too fast. In any case, I am thrilled for the first games.

After the initial preparations of Part One everything was ready to be glued together and to get a black primer on it. For more details, I also bought some barrels, chests and also made two ladders from toothpicks and wooden sticks.

Blitz Bowl: Building a Stadium / Pitch - Part I

Blitz Bowl is such a cool game and that's why I want to build a stadium for it. Here is a rough sketch of how the stadium will look like. I'll try to create a dungeon pit in which the teams battle each other.

My first attempt on the stone walls was not too convincing. Therefore, I tried something different... Cutting styrofoam, grinding/shaking with real stones and there you have perfect little foam rocks for the walls.

Then I went to a DIY store and bought a wooden crate. Except for the height, the crate has just the right size (60 x 40 cm). After some hard work and sweat, I could also correct that (from 24 cm to 8 cm). Then I started to glue the tiles on the ground...

 

Next up are the stone walls...
