Iron Hands: Assault Marines

To give me more punch in close combat with my Firstborn Marines, I recently bought ten Assault Marines cheaply and gave them a simple paint job. I also used a few other bits to build a second Sergeant in case I ever want to play two squads of 5. Quick 'n' dirty:

Iron Hands: Scouts, Scouts, Scouts

Here are five Space Marine Scouts from my pile of shame. Three of them are classic Citadel miniatures and two were build from Land Speeder Storm passengers.

Then, I painted four more Scouts and a lonely Heavy Bolter Devastator Space Marine. For what do I need so many Scouts? I want to play some 2nd edition games with my son. Back thaen Scouts were a solid and cheap army option, I think.

Iron Hands: Terminators

I am still working on my pile of shame. Next up are my Iron Hands and this means more classic pewter miniatures. Here are a bunch of old Space Marine Terminators. I put them on slightly higher bases, so they don't look too small.

Iron Hands: Servitors

While studying the current Space Marines Codex, the Servitors caught my eye.

These not only match the Iron Hands wonderfully in terms of fluff, but are also wonderfully inexpensive "mission goal holders". A unit of four of them for 30 points?! Yes, please!

The slight reference to the Borg is intentional and in this way, they go wonderfully with my Iron Hands.

Iron Hands: Ancient in Terminator Armour

After one and a half years, I finally finished this small converted miniature - an Ancient in Terminator Armour for my Iron Hands army.

Iron Hands: First Blood in 2022

Yesterday, I had my first games in 2022. To be honest, they were also my first games with the Iron Hands after two years and my first games in the 9th edition.

I faced an army of Scythes of the Emperor, played with the new Black Templar rules. In advance, I felt guilty about taking a Leviathan Dreadnought with me. But in retrospect, I should have included at least two of them in my army list!

The vow "Uphold the Honor of the Emperor" is really tough and in combination with the "Tannhauser's Bones" on a bike Chaplain, there are some very tough nuts to crack. But I don't want to complain. The games were fun and I had a nice, exciting Sunday!

Here are a few impressions of the games:

Iron Hands: Space Marine Centurions [Conversion]

I found this very cool conversion tutorial for Space Marines Centurions. Therefore, as a Christmas present, I bought myself a box of those ugly Space Marines Centurions and wanted to convert them for my Iron Hands army.

As the Iron Hands saw what the Forges of Mars had delivered them, they covered their eyes and quickly began to make modifications to please the Omnissiah even more. I call this the "Medusa-Centurion" variant.

Here is also a WIP-shot:

In any case, I think they look much better than the original models now.

Looking at the rules, GW doesn't like centurions at all. Even for casual games, they are way too expensive. I will probably play them as Aggressors instead.

Hopefully, something will change in Chapter Approved 2022...

I also took a picture to compare the size:

Iron Hands: Leviathan Dreadnought #3

Happy Holidays!

I'll try to finish some of my older projects. Therefore I painted my third Iron Hands Leviathan Dreadnought. Don't ask me why I bought three at one time. There will be hardly a chance to play all three at one time. But they are such cool models and fun to paint.

Iron Hands: Xiphon Pattern Interceptor

It took me a little bit longer than expected, but yesterday I finally finished painting this Xiphon Pattern Interceptor. Well, what can I say? Cool model and finally a Space Marine flyer that looks like it could actually fly. Maybe I should have held back a little more with weathering, but overall I think it still fits. Hope you like it.

Iron Hands: Space Marine Heroes Series 2 - Two More Terminators

Well, not much to see here. Just two new Terminators from my pile of shame.

Iron Hands: "Edward Scissorhands"

Here comes the second Leviathan Dreadnought for my Iron Hands army. Having finished this model, I built and primed other stuff, like more Terminators, Scouts and even a Xiphon Pattern Interceptor...

Iron Hands: Space Marine Heroes Series 2 - Terminators

I bought a whole box of Space Marine Heroes directly as I was on holidays in Japan last year. The box was dirty cheap and so I couldn't resist. The Terminators have nice poses and there are more to come.

These are the first models from my pile of shame, which got some paint eventually.

Iron Hands: Leviathan Dreadnought

This Dreadnought is a little bit late for Dreadtober, but I want to show him nevertheless. It is such a nice model and I had great fun painting it. By the way, the weapon arms are magnetized and there is more to come... 😜

Iron Hands: Apothecary

With the new Space Marines Codex and the Iron Hands Supplement, especially vehicles in my army became tough as nails. To make my infantry units even harder to kill, I painted an old Apothecary on foot. This is my second Apothecary after the one on a bike, I did a few years ago. I hope you like him and that he does well on the battlefield.

Speaking of older times, I bought myself a little treasure for my collection... It will be fun to browse through all that fluff.
