Mechanicus: Unlock False God Achievement (Kill the C'tan)

I bought the relatively new PC game "Mechanicus" last week and played it every day since. If you like turn-based strategy games and 40k you should definitively give it a try.
I completed it two times, but there was an achievement which eluded me until now. I mean the "False God" achievement. Here is how you can unlock it:

Press Spacebar in the mission select screen to enter the noosphere to make Tiresias visible and his missions selectable.
You collect information about a tesseract vault in six different missions and in the seventh mission, you can fight the C'tan eventually.
The unfolding fight is pretty easy. The C'tan shard has only 120 life and no shields.
Piece of cake.
Besides unlocking the achievement you also get a new canticle!

Defeating the C'tan and doing all the missions before that was not hard, but to find Tiresias in the first place was the real challenge.

Why am I telling you all this? Well, I couldn't find a guide to get it and damn you GW for all your licenced games, because this one led to a rather spontaneous buy:

Skitarii will be my next Kill Team (at least)!

Talons of the Emperah - Ever more Custodes...

Besides the Vexilus Praetor, I painted some more Custodes Miniatures over the last two weeks. Just some Custodian Guard dudes of whose one can never have enough.

Last week I had a game with my golden guys and they were definitely lacking some kind of transportation. So, Santa brought me this early Christmas present...

And here are some impressions of the mentioned game:

Talons of the Emperah - Custodes Shield Captain on Jetbike

This is my Custodes Shield Captain on a Jetbike. Yes, no Dawneagle Jetbike, but an Agamatus Jetbike from Forgeworld. Those are a little bit larger than a Dawneagle Jetbike and this way the Captain is easily distinguishable from the rest of my army. Nothing special, but something I had on my todo list. :D

Talons of the Emperah - Adeptus Custodes Allarus Custodians (Conversion)

Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of GW's Allarus terminator models and so I came up with the idea to build my own version. The conversions are based on the Forgeworld Custodes Terminators, then the axes of the Stormcast Eternal of AoS and Guardian Spears the normal Custodes for the castellan axes. For the Balistus grenade launcher, I took the wrist bolt pistols of the Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard. Hope you like them.

Talons of the Emperah - Vexilus Praetor

I returned to my Custodes again, because there will be a big battle with my friends at the end of the year in which I want to field them. To be honest, I struggled with painting the gold and getting it right in the past. It tuned out to be too dark and bronze-ish. Moreover, painting four, five layers of different metallic colours took much time. That's why I tried something new. Using a spray can gold colour from a DIY-store, Casanadora Yellow Shade and Agrax Earthshade Wash delivered good results. Adding some details lead to this:

I am very satisfied with it and it took such little time and effort. What do you think?

Adeptus Titanicus: Reaver Battle Titan

The first titan for Adeptus Titanicus is painted and ready for battle. It is a Reaver Battle Titan of the Legio Gryphonicus!

I decided on Legio Gryphonicus for two reasons. First, I wanted to use different colours as the ones, I normally use for painting my 40k armies. Second, I wanted to have a connection between the Legio and my Tallarn Desert Raiders or Iron Hands. As it happened to be, Legion Gryphonicus took part on the Battle of Tallarn and has a mainly greyish colour scheme. What a nice coincidence and easy choice to make.

The weapons are magnetized by the way, in case I want to change the current loadout in the future. Next up will be an Imperial Knight detachment from one of the two dedicated Knight Houses - Hawkshroud or Coldshroud.

Adeptus Titanicus: Civitas Imperialis - Desert Outpost

As soon as the first rumours of the game Adeptus Titanicus appeared, I was hooked. I always liked games in a smaller scale like "Epic: Armageddon" or "Aeronautica Imperialis", but sadly I never played it myself. Not this time!

But first, I focused my attention on the new terrain to get into the right mood. Hope you like it.

There will be titans.
Soon...

Death Guard Kill Team - Part VI

Having painted my Plague Marine Champion the Death Guard Kill Team is ready for battle:

1 Plague Marine Champion - Power Fist, Plague Sword - 19 pts. (Leader)
1 Plague Marine Gunner - Blight Launcher - 18 pts. (Heavy)
1 Plague Marine Gunner - Plasma Gun - 18 pts. (Demolitions)
1 Plague Marine Fighter - Flail of Corruption - 19 pts. (Zealot)
1 Standard Plague Marine + 4 Poxwalker

I used a normal Plague Marine from the Dark Imperium box and replaced his right arm with a Power Fist. He looks evil enough and like a leader with his antlers, but overall not too much over the top. Hope you like him.

Death Guard Kill Team - Part III

Here is another small update on my Death Guard Kill Team. The next Plague Marine with a Flail of Corruption is ready for battle. I used one of the Plague Marines from the Dark Imperium Box, a Nemesis Warding Staff from the Grey Knights and two Chaos Marauder Flails for the Flail of Corruption conversion. The hand with the pointing finger is from the loyal Space Marines Tactical Squad box.

Death Guard Kill Team - Part II

Just a small update on my Death Guard kill team. I've finished my second Plague Marine and my club mates and I decided for date for our small tournament (22nd September).

Right now I am working on the third Plague Marine...one with a Flail of Corruption:

Death Guard Kill Team - Part I

The latest Kill Team release from GW looks pretty sweet. I bought the rulebook and mused about my kill team possibilities. I shortlisted teams from Deathwatch, Death Guard, Genestealer Cults or Adeptus Mechanicus. Eventually, I chose Death Guard. Those dudes are pretty badass, would be fun to paint and I never played with Death Guard before. Luckily I had some miniatures from the Dark Imperium release lying around. Here is the list I came up with:
Champion with Plasmapistol, Plaguesword 16 points
Gunner with Blightlauncher = 18 points
Gunner with Plasmagun = 18 points
Fighter with Flail of Corruption = 19 points
Marine = 14 points
5 Poxwalker = 15 points

Overall = 100 points
My first finished miniature is the Gunner with a Plasma Gun. It took me some time to find the fitting colors and get the right look. But in the end, I am quite pleased with the result:

Next came two of the five Poxwalkers. For them, I used mainly washes and these dudes look really sick and twisted.

In my abstinence I went to Japan for a month among other things. Not so much for sightseeing, but for leisure and relaxation with friends and family.
