Adeptus Printicus: Lucius Pattern Warhound Titan

Two months ago, I bought my first 3D printer - an Elegoo 3 Neptune Pro for about 220 Euros. Since then, I have printed many things I will show in later updates. My most recent project was a Lucius Pattern Warhound Titan.

You can find the needed STL-File for free in the internet. It took a few days to print everything and get it ready to paint. You can clearly see that it is a printed modell on closer inspection. But on the tabletop it comes close enough to the original. And to be honest, I don't really care. The old model is out of production for years now and the most recent incarnation is much too expensive (about 600 Euros!).

The warhound has been painted in the Legio Gryphonicus colour scheme, just like my loyal Adeptus Titanicus models. I hope you like it!?

  1. I really like the chunky design of the Lucius pattern and the double mega bolters is a great loadout. The paintjob looks really great and does the heavy lifting to make you forget the printlines. I bet the engine will look great on the battlefield!

    1. Thanks a lot! To be honest, I don`t see myself playing with it. It is more of a display piece.

  2. Absolutely stunning mate! I think I'm gonna have to pull the trigger now! I think I know the STL you used but its since been..ah..removed... You don't still happen to have it rattling around do you?

  3. Looks really clean for FDM. One thing to consider is orientation of the peices as changing say the head to point upwards rather than flat means laddering on planes is over many more steps so you get a much smoother finish. A lot of the models assume we're using resin printers so moving them towork better in FDM is often needed. Tree supports help alot too, and dropping the layer height for the amour panels and weapons to something like 0.1 or 0.2 really helps. Adaptive layer height worth looking at along with combine infill. Ironing can work wel on top surfaces. Try out alternate slicers too. Lychee has some nice features. As you know splitting complicated peices in two can help too. Lots of good titan printing advice on this facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/509410823703777/
